The Shropshire Union Canal and runs from Ellesere Port on the River Mersey to Autherley Junction, near Wolverhamption, where it meets the Staffordshire and Worcestershire Canal. The Llangollen and Montgomery canals are modern names for two branches of the canal.
The Middlewich Branch connects the Shropshire Union Canal to the Trent and Mersey Canal. With the second connection to Staffordshire and Worcestershire Canal, the canal is part of the imporant Four Counties Ring.For more detailed information, follow the link below:
